Program Overview

The METU–SUNY Global and International Affairs (GIA) program is a unique joint degree offered by METU and Binghamton University (SUNY), designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of global politics through an interdisciplinary and international academic experience. The program integrates political science, international relations, and public policy, enabling students to analyze global systems, state–society relations, and contemporary international challenges from multiple perspectives. Through its transnational structure, students study at both METU and Binghamton University, gaining exposure to different academic systems, intellectual traditions, and research environments. By graduation, students acquire not only strong theoretical and analytical foundations, but also the global perspective, adaptability, and intercultural competence required to operate effectively in international academic, public, and private sectors.
